Can't create system repair disc

When I click on 'create a repair disc' in 'Backup or Restore your Files', a window (insert a blank disc) flashes for an instant followed by the message 'Windows Repair Disc has stopped working, check online for a solution & close the program, or 'close the program'  Under 'view problem details' I see APPCRASH, recdisc.exe.  I've restarted the computer but the problem continues. 

This is a new Inspiron 660; I'm just going through the setup processes.  OS is Win Home Premium, 64bit.
