Do to a malware intrusion, I have fully re-set the SSD and have re-loaded Windows 8 (from Dell recovery DVD). In the process of allowing the massive number of automatic Windows updates and installing network peripherals, an unwelcome app 'postgreSQL' was installed without my knowledge. This app created a 'super-administrator' user 'postgres' with an unknown user password which has overridden the system administrator user's file permissions so that nothing may be changed. Most Windows utilities go into limbo (hang-up). I cannot uninstall any programs, nor reverse any Windows updates. File system Refresh or Reset do not work.
The Dell recovery DVD (which worked 5 days ago) will not work now. I have also tried USB recovery.
Any ideas?
